The Red Mushroom Biome is a surface variant of the glowing mushroom Biome focusing on red mushrooms, residing on dirt. It does not appear during worldgen and can only be created artificially on the surface and underground by using Spore Bags or Brown Solution.

The Mire[ | ]

BiomeBannerTheMire (Ancients Awakened)

The Mire is a damp, dark, muggy swamp biome, with amphibious monsters swimming in every dark pond in it. In the deepest, darkest abyss in the marsh, lurks a swimming nightmare known as The Hydra. However, after the death of the Moon Lord, the mire's waters begin to stir, with more powerful creatures crawling from the depths.

The Inferno[ | ]

BiomeBannerTheInferno (Ancients Awakened)

The Inferno is a hot, fire-razed mountainous biome, overlooked and ruled by dragons. Inside of the tallest mountain, there will be the old, scorched ruins of an old pagoda, and underneath it, a den of dragons. In the den, The Broodmother lurks. Once the Moon Lord is defeated, however, the inferno begins to rumble. The mountains become so hot that even the dragons are beginning to flee and serpentine dragons are beginning to emerge from the fiery crags.

The Void[ | ]

BiomeBannerTheVoid (Ancients Awakened)

The Void is a biome that appears in the upper-right corner of the world in space. It's a realm where logic and science are nonexistent, it's made of a small cluster of floating islands that contain valuable loot, and in the center lurks a strange, deactivated machine.

Structures[ | ]

The Terrarium[ | ]

BiomeBannerTheTerrarium (Ancients Awakened)

The Terrarium spawns in the very center of the world. The difficulty of the biome changes as the game progresses, along with its aesthetics. As you play through the game, the crystals glow more and more, along with more powerful enemies spawning.

Cavern of the Worm King[ | ]

BiomeBannerCavernoftheWormKing (Ancients Awakened)

The Cavern of the Worm King, also known as "Greed's Hoard", is a large, open area that spawns near the lava layer on the left side of the world. Giant Worms spawn here frequently and it is filled with small islands, each containing piles of coins and a Greed Chest, as well as a Greed Altar at the bottom of the cavern. Post-Plantera, Scavengers that drop Gilded Keys spawn, which can be used to open Greed Chests. Greed can be fought here by opening three chests or using a Golden Grub.

The Acropolis[ | ]

BiomeBannerTheAcropolis (Ancients Awakened)

The Acropolis is a large palace-inspired structure that spawns in the sky between the spawn point and the Void. It is surrounded by small platforms, and at the center of the main structure is the Owl Altar. Using an Owl Statue here will summon Athena.

Equinox Altar[ | ]

BiomeBannerEquinoxAltar (Ancients Awakened)

The Equinox Altar is a small structure that spawns in the sky above the far left side of the world. It appears to be a small floating island with visages of Daybringer and Nightcrawler looming over the sides of it, as well as two small altars surrounding a larger one. Placing a Star Chart and a Gravity Sphere into the smaller slots, along with a Worm Idol (which leads the player here when held) into the large altar will reward the player with an Equinox Worm.

Crystal of Memories[ | ]

BiomeBannerCrystalofMemories (Ancients Awakened)

The Crystal of Memories is a small, underground structure dedicated to developer/spriter Ender, who was thought to have tragically passed away in October of 2018 but showed after a two-year long hiatus in December 2020. It contains an Eternal Memory.

The Pit[ | ]

BiomeBannerThePit (Ancients Awakened)

The Pit is an incomplete structure on the far right of the Underworld that is a mound of Pit Stone. At the top sits Lucifer the Pit Lord, who can be talked to; giving various pieces of dialogue about the area.
