Black Ore

Black Ore is a post-Plantera ore found underground in the Cavern layer. It is found in veins of 1-3.

It spawns after defeating Plantera and requires at least a Pickaxe Axe to mine.

As it is both rare and only found in tiny veins, multiple worlds are required to gather enough to make every item that it is used in.
Despite being rare it cannot be detected by Metal Detectors making it very difficult to find.
Items that reveal the entire map are extremely useful when looking for Black Ore. For example, the The Ancient Master's Map of the Lost King's Great Ancestors from Fargo's Mutant Mod.
