Squires are a new Summoner weapon type introduced in the Amulet of Many Minions. They summon a single, powerful minion that can be controlled directly by the player, tracking the mouse cursor similar to a Yoyo or Magic Missile. A player may only control one Squire at a time, and they do not count towards the player's minion limit. Squires can be buffed through armor and accessories to act as a primary damage source, or used as a supplemental damage source similar to Whips. The Amulet of Many Minions currently includes 20 Squire type minions, available throughout the vanilla progression. 10 squires are available in Pre-Hardmode, and 10 are available in Hardmode.
Squire Stats[ | ]
Squires benefit from bonuses to minion damage and knockback, similar to sentries. In addition, three new player stats have been introduced to provide additional bonuses to squires. These stats can be increased by the several Squire-focused armor sets and accessories found in the mod. They are as follows:
- Squire Travel Range: Increases the maximum distance a squire can move from the player, similar to String.
- For Squires that always remain a fixed distance from the player, such as the Pumpkin Squire, this increases the velocity of their fired projectiles instead.
- Squire Travel Speed: Increases the speed at which squires move.
- Squire Attack Speed: Increases the rate at which squires swing their weapons. This is a separate stat from Attack Speed.
Squire Specials[ | ]
Added in the v0.11.0 update, each Squire has access to a powerful special move, activated by right-click on a 5-15 second cooldown. While each squire special is unique, they can all be grouped into one of several styles:
- Charged shot style: Fire a single powerful projectile
- Volley style: Rapidly fire a burst of weaker projectiles
- Transform style: Change appearance, increase Squire Stats and deal additional contact damage
- Helper style: Spawn an additional temporary minion to supplement the squire's damage
