The Ascended Bamboo Shoot is a Hardmode weapon. It uses seeds or darts as ammo. Right clicking will charge and fire a barrage of seeds/darts. A fully charged barrage also fires a piercing projectile. Left clicking will swing the weapon up and down. While grounded, the downward swing will create a shockwave that travels along the ground.
