The Janitor is a Hardmode mini boss found in the Abandoned Lab. It is the first mini boss of the Abandoned Lab.

While The Janitor is alive, the music Safety Violation will play.

Spawn

The Janitor does not spawn on its own and is only summoned by approaching its trolley in its specific room in the Abandoned Lab.

If the player has the Girus Core equipped or is wearing the T-Bot vanity gear while encountering The Janitor, the player can completely skip the fight and will be given access.

Note that The Janitor can only be fought once per world, and the fight becomes unavailable upon defeating the encounter.

Behavior

During combat, the Janitor jumps around the room, randomly alternating between three attacks.

• Throws a high-speed mop at the player.
• Throws a slower, bouncing mop at the player. If the mop bounces back into him, it will briefly stun him.
• Throws a bouncing, gravity-affected bucket of water that splashes water particles everywhere. If the Janitor lands on a part of the floor that the bucket has recently splashed water onto, he will slip and become stunned for a short time.
• The Janitor normally has very high defense, making most weapons do little against him, but his defense will be severely crippled if he is stunned with one of his own attacks.

When the player approaches The Janitor's trolley (initiating the battle):

When the player approaches The Janitor's trolley (with Girus Core/T-Bot vanity equipped, this will skip the battle):

• "*grumbles* Those darn careless bots losing their cards..." (walks to a door and disappears)
