The Shaman is a new class added in the Orchid Mod. The Shaman class' weapons, armor, and accessories provide short-term increases to the player's stats, while also having those empowerments augment the effects of the class' weapons and equipment in turn. The class inflicts shamanic damage.
The class is highly developed within the bounds of a vanilla Terraria playthrough, with content available throughout the journey. This includes 5 armor sets and 14 individual armor pieces, 25 accessories, 14 buffs, and 53 items.
The Shaman's weapons hit with a specific damage type called shamanic damage. Accessories and armor can be used to augment shamanic damage output, and generic 'damage' buffs still increase the Shaman's damage.
The most distinguishing feature of the Shaman class compared to the ones available in normal Terraria are its empowerments. Upon hitting an enemy with a specific shaman weapon, the player will increase certain stats in damage, defense, critical strike chance, life regeneration, and movement speed, based on the weapon used. By default, there are 5 levels of intensity for the boosts, but certain equipment may increase it to further levels of intensity.
In addition to increasing the player's stats, the empowerments are also used to augment certain weapons and trigger certain effects from armor set bonuses and accessories. For example, the Bulb Scepter will fire one additional projectile for each empowerment the player has active on use, and Spectral Skull causes critical strikes to release a homing lost soul, as long as the player has at least one level of critical strike chance active.
Orbs are a mechanic utilized by certain shamanic weapons. They are gained upon hitting enemies with the weapon, sometimes with added criteria, and linger around the player. After the player obtains a given maximum number of orbs, the next hit against enemies will cause the orbs to disappear for a special effect, such as granting a buff, or restoring health. These weapons are affected by the Treasured Baubles and Hallowed Baubles accessories, causing every cycle completed to grant the player a free orb on the following cycle.
Releases a burst of feathers around you when using a double jump. Allows you to double jump, if you cannot already. Increases harpy agility potion damage. These effects will only occur if you have an active shamanic speed empowerment.
Having more than 3 active shamanic empowerments increases the effectiveness of all your shamanic empowerments. Your shamanic life regeneration empowerments will increase your maximum life by 50. Increases the duration of your shamanic empowerments by 3 seconds.
15% increased shamanic damage. Increases the effectiveness of all your shamanic empowerments. However, taking direct damage will reduce their current duration by 5 seconds. It will also reverse the effectiveness upgrade and remove the damage increase for 15 seconds.
Your shamanic critical strike empowerments will allow your shamanic critical strikes to recover you some health and mana. Your shamanic regeneration empowerments will cover you in honey. You have a chance to release harmful bees when under the effect of shamanic regeneration empowerments.
Set Bonus: Increases the effectiveness of your shamanic damage empowerments. Dealing shamanic damage while you have a shamanic damage empowerment will briefly burn your target with shadow flames. Your shamanic empowerments will last 3 seconds longer.
Set Bonus: Increases the effectiveness of your shamanic life regeneration empowerments. Dealing shamanic damage while you have a life regeneration empowerment active will steal life from your target. Your shamanic empowerments will last 3 seconds longer.
Set Bonus: You have a chance to release sound and blood orbs upon hitting an enemy. Catching a blood orb will recover you some life. Catching a sound orb will increase current shamanic empowerments duration. Your shamanic empowerments will last 3 seconds longer.
Your shamanic empowerments will last 4 seconds longer
Set Bonus: Increases the effectiveness of your shamanic damage and movement speed empowerments. Dealing shamanic damage while you have 3 or more active shamanic empowerment has a chance to electrocute your target.
Your shamanic empowerments will last 5 seconds longer
Set Bonus: Increases the effectiveness of all your shamanic empowerments. Double tap ▼ Down to summon an abyss portal at the cursor location. only one portal can be active at once. 150 * shamanic damage bonus shamanic damage. Increases movement speed on hit. Shamanic empowerment level V.
Attacks with Reviver of Souls reset duration of all Empowerments
Empowers the Reviver of Souls weapon, and nullifies its mana cost All your attacks with it will refresh every single of your active shamanic empowerments They will also increase the weapon damage even more per hit
