mod sub-page<!--DO NOT REMOVE THIS LINE! It is required for Mod sub-pages to work properly.--> stub The Shaman is a new class added in the Orchid Mod. The Shaman class' weapons, , and revolve around actively switching between elements to balance out various meters, while augmenting and empowering other shamanic weapons in turn. The class inflicts shamanic damage. The class is highly developed within the bounds of a vanilla Terraria playthrough, with content available throughout the journey. This includes ? armor sets and ? individual armor pieces, ? accessories, ? buffs, and ? items. == Mechanics == === Shamanic Damage === The Shaman's weapons hit with a specific damage type called shamanic damage. Accessories and armor can be used to augment shamanic damage output, and generic 'damage' buffs still increase the Shaman's damage. === Elements === Each shamanic weapon is associated with a specific element: Fire, Water, Air, Earth, and Spirit. Each element has its own exhaustion meter and duration meter. The exhaustion meter indicates how much weapons of a specific element can be used at full power, while duration indicates the number of active elements empowering the effects of various Shaman items. Both can be affected by various equipment. ==== Exhaustion ==== When a shamanic weapon is used, part of its corresponding element's exhaustion meter will be consumed, with the amount consumed referred to as energy. Should an element's exhaustion meter be fully depleted, all weapons of that element's type will only deal 50% of its normal damage. Exhaustion meters regenerate over time, with the rate increasing as the player uses shamanic weapons of differing elements. In addition to the last-used element's exhaustion meter appearing underneath the player, all exhaustion meters can be seen on the bottom-right corner of the screen as colored meters. ==== Duration ==== Upon damaging a non-Target Dummy enemy with a shamanic weapon, part of its corresponding element's duration meter will be fully filled, with the total duration length increasing based on how long the target has gone since taking damage from a shamanic weapon. Various Shaman equipment will have their effects augmented or empowered based on the number of active elements the player has at once. For example, the fires additional projectiles based on how many active elements the player has. In addition to all active elements' durations appearing as fading icons underneath the player, each element's duration can be seen on the bottom-right corner of the screen as red meters below their exhaustion meters. === Catalysts === Catalysts are visual indicators of where the attacks of a shamanic weapon will be fired from. They position themselves a certain distance and direction from the player, based on the direction of the cursor. Catalysts additionally do not travel instantaneously. === Orbs === Orbs are a mechanic utilized by certain shamanic weapons. Orbs are gained upon successfully striking enemies with the weapon, sometimes with added criteria, and linger above or around the player. After the player obtains a given maximum number of orbs, the next hit against enemies will cause the orbs to be consumed for a special effect, such as granting a buff, or restoring health. These weapons are affected by the and accessories, causing every cycle completed to grant the player a free orb (or initial progress on single-orb weapons) on the following cycle. == Accessories == collapse top collapse bottom == Armor == collapse top collapse bottom == Buffs == collapse top collapse bottom == Debuffs == collapse top collapse bottom == Items == === Crafting Materials === {| class="terraria" ! colspan=3 | Item !!
