Biohoppers are Hardmode Minibosses that come in three variants for the Corruption, Crimson and Hallow. Each with unique attacks and drops.

Summoning[ | ]

Biohoppers spawn naturally in their respective biomes and cannot be summoned manually.

Behaviour[ | ]

Corrupt Biohopper (Corruption)[ | ]

Biohoppers will remain passive until attacked, after which they will make large jumps towards the player while shooting Cursed Fireballs at them, occasionally firing a spread of 4 at once. When below 60% health they will begin to fire 8 Fireballs around themselves.

Biohopper (Crimson)[ | ]

Biohoppers will remain passive until attacked, after which they will make large jumps towards the player while summoning Fleshslimes and Crimson Pustules.

Biohopper (Hallow)[ | ]

Biohoppers will remain passive until attacked, after which they will make large jumps towards the player while firing a spread of 5 Glitter Gels that stick to tiles. Every time they are hit they launch several gravity-affected crystals into the air, when below 40% health they will random launch crystals regardless of being hit or not.

Bestiary Entries[ | ]

All[ | ]

Biohoppers - the ultimate evolution of the Belh. Unlike regular Slimes, they do not have the same gel composition - and thus intelligence and sentience of one. Nonetheless, they are still extremely powerful, and you should keep clear from hurting one unless you are confident in your skills or for some reason, want to be squished by a giant blob of biomatter.

Biohopper (Corruption)[ | ]

Corrupted Biohoppers seem to have evolved from lumps of corrupted waste and flesh, being granted life and eventually, the ability to move. I do not suspect any foul play in it's creation, unlike it's crimson counterpart.

Biohopper (Crimson)[ | ]

Crimson Biohoppers are quite unlike their corrupted counterpart - and seem to be almost artificially created. They are made of a highly reactive mixture of gel and flesh - something that would not be naturally occurring, unlike the pure rotten flesh that Corrupted Biohoppers comprise of. They also have the ability to split their flesh into new organisms, which would take millions of years to develop. All their abilities point to something artificial in their nature. Of course, we can only suspect.

Biohopper (Hallow)[ | ]

They appear to have some correlation with the entity known as a Gemihive, as well as the lesser species of true Slime, the Chromoslime. While the former is hard as rock(it is rock!) and the latter puts you on a acid trip, the gel of a Hallowed Biohopper actually tastes really good. Just make sure not to take a bite of it while it's still alive, though. It'll retaliate by launching volatile pieces of itself at you, which is sticky and painful.
