"Let's see how long you last..."
The Vlitch Cleaver is a Hardmode boss fought after Golem and is the first of the 3 fightable Vlitch Overlords.
While the Vlitch Cleaver is alive, the music Barrage will play.
Spawn[ | ]
The Vlitch Cleaver is summoned using a Corrupted Hero Sword at night. It will spawn very close to the player.
Behavior[ | ]
Vlitch Cleaver is a stationary boss, but begins to move around in Phase 2.
Attacks[ | ]
Vlitch Cleaver shoots bursts and rings of omega blasts at the player while constantly summoning Corrupted Probes and Corrupted Blades.
When reaching 85%, 55%, 35%, and 25% health, it will summon a Phantom Cleaver above the player, which will stop for a second, fly downwards and disappear.
When 55% health is reached, Phase 2 will begin.
Phase 2[ | ]
Vlitch Cleaver will summon 10 Girus Daggers around itself, which have a chance to reflect projectiles and make the boss immune while they're alive.
It will also begin to occasionally shoot mega blasts that deal extremely heavy damage. The boss will also begin to move around and ram players.

When the player summons Vlitch Cleaver (initiating the battle):

Vlitch Cleaver instead says the following if the player has the Girus Core equipped:
- "...An Omega Android challenges me? Must be malfunctioning... I'll scrap it for now."
Vlitch Cleaver instead says the following if the player has the Crown of the King equipped:
- "Let's se- wait... Is that a chicken!?"
At 55% health:
- "Guess it's time to take action..."
If the player has the Girus Core equipped:
- "Wait... Why aren't my minions targetting you?"
- "Oh, because you got that damn exoskeleton on..."
- "No matter, I guess I'll take action..."

These quotes appear from Girus in order:

Tips[ | ]
- Dodge the mega blasts as much as you can, even if it means getting hit by another projectile.
- When attacking the Girus Daggers, remember to dodge your own projectiles as well, if they get reflected.
- Equipping the Girus Core will make the Corrupted Probes stop attacking you, but it'll also make the Vlitch Cleaver go into Phase 2 before reaching 55% health.
- Due to the boss' low mobility, the Lightning Aura Staff or other sentries will make an effective secondary weapon.
- It is recommended to bring a dash accessory to get out of the way of the Phantom Cleaver and large groups of other projectiles.
Trivia[ | ]
- Vlitch Cleaver was first created in Mod of Randomness, and is the first Vlitch Overlord.
- Having the Girus Core or Crown of the King equipped while fighting will change some of Vlitch Cleaver's dialogue.
- The Vlitch Cleaver's old sprite is accessible through the configuration setting, the same as the Infected Eye.
- A smaller version of its old design was reused for the Vlitch Blade.
