Expertise is a currency used to buy items from Draken's shop, obtained from defeating Bosses and Rare Enemies. Expertise is a finite resource, and does not exist as a physical item. Instead, it's a "virtual" resource, simply existing as a number displayed to the player.

To view the current amount of Expertise you have, talk with Draken, hold the Shift key, and click "Check Expertise" in his dialogue options. The maximum possible amount of Expertise that can be obtained is 17060 / 21325 / 24523. In normal mode, expertise gain is reduced by 20% (rounded down), whereas in Nightmare Mode, expertise gain is boosted by 15% (rounded down).

A distinction should be noted that a player has a total accumulated amount of Expertise, and current amount of Expertise. Whenever a player gains Expertise, both values go up, but when spending it, only the current value goes down.

Obtaining[ | ]

Below is a list of monsters which give expertise. Unless otherwise noted, each monster will only give Expertise once. Due to expertise per kill being rounded down after mode-modifiers are applied, theoretical values will not match the real values shown in the table. Most notably, the Eater of Worlds gives the same amount of Expertise in both Expert and Nightmare mode, due to the Expertise per kill being so low.
