The Hunter is a town NPC that collects rare items, or artifacts from people, and exchange them for gold (or platinum). He will attack by throwing Gold Coins at enemies. He will move in as soon as a hose is available.

Artifacts can usually be found inside chests, from enemies, or breaking blocks. Each artifact has it's own level. Level 1 consists of starter, or early Pre-Hardmode items. Level 2 consists of late Pre-Hardmode items, or early Hardmode items. Level 3 consists of mid-Hardmode items, or items that are usually uncommon (such as Viking Helmets). Level 4 consists of rare items. Level 5 consists of very rare items. Endangered artifacts consists of items that are extremely rare, and hard to find, such as the Nymph banner.

To know if the player has an Artifact, the button for artifacts will change from "Artifacts" to "Examine (Level) Artifact: (Artifact Name)". There is a button called "About Artifacts". When it is clicked, the Hunter will tell the player about Artifacts.

Trivia[edit | edit source]

  • The name "Mundy" is a reference to the Sniper from Team Fortress 2. His real name is Mr. Mundy.
  • The name "Bear" is a reference to professional survivor, Bear Grylls.
  • In the game files, the Hunter is called "Sniper", which was going to be his original name.
  • To prevent the player from cheesing by gathering two Snowball Launchers in Split Mod's Stranded Ship, the Hunter will sell the snowball launcher for 5 gold each.
  • When the Hunter mentions the Coin Gun, he mentions how it costs "142 doubloons" If that is, a regular doubloon would cost 7.02 gold.
