Hurricanes are special storms that occur during the Summer season. Hurricanes are indicated by the purple status message: "Looks like a storm is brewing." They have a 1/2 chance of replacing rain.

Hurricanes will gradually increase wind in the world, peaking at an unrealistic 1000mph. The extreme wind will cause Flying Piranhas, Flying Sharks, and Flying Trees to spawn and fly around wildly. Flying Piranhas and Flying Sharks will stop flying and act normal after hitting a wall, while Flying Trees will pass through walls completely.

Lightning Strikes are 5x more likely during a hurricane.

While a hurricane is happening and no other events are taking place, Boss 4 track will play.

Tips[edit | edit source]

  • New players should take caution during a hurricane, due to the dangers of lightning, flying sharks, trees, and piranhas. It is highly recommended to stay indoors during a hurricane, as piranhas and sharks can't get inside.
  • Players can benefit from hurricanes as flying sharks drop shark fins, flying piranhas drop hooks, and both drop coins. Flying trees also drop wood & acorns. These rewards don't outweigh the risk of going outside, though, so it's recommended to stay inside and stay safe.
  • Make sure to take extra caution even while indoors, as flying trees can still get inside and strike you or your NPCs. The best thing to do is to make an underground room where you can wait out the storm, like a shelter.
