The main feature of WeaponOut is to allow the player to have their weapons appear at all times, not just when in use. Different weapons will be held in different positions, based on their size, damage type and use style. Additionally, other non-weapon items are included since they technically fulfill the conditions.

This feature can be hidden by using a new toggle button on the top left of the inventory screen.

Items retain appearances caused by effects such as glowing, size modifiers, and the Item Customizer mod.

Melee, Throwing, Etc.[edit | edit source]

Any item smaller than a certain size appears in the hand. This includes things like knives, yoyos, and blocks. A small subset of items, mainly broadswords, picks, axes and furniture, fall between a certain size and are shown on the waist. Anything past a certain size appears on the player's back.

'Special Melee'[edit | edit source]

Projectile based melee items like spears, drills and chainsaws are held in the hand, but rotate differently during running and jumping.

Ranged[edit | edit source]

Ranged weapons are split into bows and firearms. Firearms are further split into small arms weapons, and larger rifles.

Magic[edit | edit source]

Small and medium magic weapons appear in the hand and on the waist, similar to standard items. Large staff-like magic weapons are treated and held as such.
